Katie and her son Lawson, from the Old Bridge Inn Llangennech, are shown presenting a Chq for £250.00 to Huw Thomas, Chairman of Llangennech Community Centre Committee. Their generous donation will be used towards providing a fence around the new "Llancentre Nursery and Infant Garden" at the Community Centre. Also in the picture are Michelle Coffey of "Bright Beginnings" Playgroup and three of her young charges, William Bostock, Katie Jenkins and Lowri Allen.
The fence is the next stage in developing the Garden will cost about £750.00 and will be funded by Llangennech Community Council, Llangennech Community Centre Committee, and Michelle Coffey.
The Garden was started in May 2009 with just 4 raised beds made from old tyres. The crop of Runner Beans (Variety"Polestar") was just a taster of what is to come as the Garden develops. |
